Putting independent healthcare on the map will be the theme for this year’s Independent Healthcare Forum on 5 September. Two years after the Coalition government set out its vision for the NHS, the Health & Social Care Act is finally set to transform the way healthcare provision is designed and delivered in the UK. This means a radical shake-up for the NHS but what will it mean for the independent sector? Is the time right for private and voluntary healthcare providers to take on a bigger role in NHS provision and can providers and insurers seize the opportunity to signpost the contribution they make to the health and wellbeing of the UK population? How will healthcare be funded as public spending is scaled back? Is there still appetite for investment in healthcare? And how will the continued spotlight on competition impact on the sector?

Such big questions require a big forum and we have decided to expand this year’s event with individual streams on Acute Healthcare; PMI and Wellness; Primary and Community Services; and Mental Health. Delegates will be free to move between the four streams as they please as well as attend the plenary sessions to hear the latest on policy and regulation.

Overlooking the Palace of Westminster, the Church House Conference Centre will provide an apt setting for a full day of discussion and debate as well as a stunning environment in which to network with senior figures from across the UK health sector.
