Calculating a Fair Price for Care
Published 2002 / 2004 / 2008 and ongoing bespoke consultancy work
First published in 2002, and revised in both 2004 and 2008, this Joseph Rowntree Foundation commissioned document, well-known throughout the sector as the 'fair price' report, lays out the method by which reasonable fees can be calculated based on the operating costs of efficient care homes for older people in England. The toolkit is regularly used by both local authorities and local care associations and has been cited in a number of Judicial Reviews in recent years. Laing & Buisson can also offer consultancy services, utilising the established 'fair price' model for clients involved in fee negotiations and legal processes.
